A workshop to explore marbling techniques

As Artist in Residence at KPL for the month of June, I will be demonstrating the art of Collage June 2, and June 16th. Location to be determined.

Western University [Master's of Environmental Sustainability workshop] Wrack your brain, stretch your mind and meet new people as we explore that most sustainable of natural resources, our own creativity. Review the steps of the creative process (preparation; incubation; illumination; implementation and revision) and try your hand using it to solve some real-life environmental problems. Explore your own vision for the environment along the way, and put that infernal internal critic on notice as we gear upfor the academic year. Bring a notebook or journal, pen or pencil and a willingness to engage. See you there.

From writing to art and back again: the amazing possibilities of the journal. In this week-long class (mornings only) we will combine individual and group art and writing exercises to create beautiful and very personalized journals

Go Green in Three In this half-day- class, there will be three stations for decorating papers, both new and recycled, as follows: 1) Paste paper 2) Calligraphy and stamping 3)Collage for texture. You can also explore the techniques of each station in a journal or altered book if you have one.

This weekend workshop is part of the Kitchener Public Library's Artist-in-Residence program. We will explore some of the traditional and non-traditional methods of suminigashi marbling using inks floated on water to make patterns on paper.

I will be demonstrating Suminigashi marbling on Sat. Nov. 1 and again on Sunday Nov. 2 at ArtWorks, the Arts and Crafts Fair at Bingeman Park in Kitchener. I will also have some of my art works on display in the ArtBites Gallery booth at ArtWorks. Stop by and say hello!
